Key dates
Fidelity will transfer your account balance, investment elections, contribution percentage elections, and outstanding loans to your Microsoft 401(k) Plan account. After the transfer, any future contributions and loan repayments will be made to your Microsoft 401(k) Plan account.
Please keep the following dates in mind:
November 30, 2022, 1 p.m. PT: Last day to update Double Fine 401(k) Plan contributions
If you want to change your rate or amount of contributions to the Double Fine 401(k) Plan—which will then be transferred to the Microsoft 401(k) Plan—you must do so by 1 p.m., PT on November 30, 2022. Your next opportunity to change your rate of contributions to the Microsoft 401(k) Plan will be once the transition is complete on or around the week of December 25, 2022.
November 30, 2022, 1 p.m. PT: Last day to submit paperwork for a withdrawal, rollover, loan and online transactions
If you need to submit paperwork related to a Double Fine 401(k) Plan transaction, you must do so by 1 p.m., PT November 30, 2022. If you miss the deadline, you can request these transactions in the Microsoft 401(k) Plan once the transition is complete on or around the week of December 25, 2022.
December 2, 2022, 1 p.m. PT: Last day to make investment changes prior to blackout
If you want to modify your current investment elections in the Double Fine 401(k) Plan, make your adjustments by 1 p.m., PT on December 2, 2022. If you miss the deadline, you can request such transactions in the Microsoft 401(k) Plan once the transition is complete on or around the week of December 25, 2022.
December 2, 2022, after 1 p.m. PT: Blackout period begins
“Blackout period” refers to the period of time when you will not have access to your Double Fine 401(k) Plan assets. After the close of the stock market (1 p.m. PT) on December 2, 2022, your Double Fine 401(k) Plan account will go into blackout at John Hancock in preparation for the move to Fidelity. Your account balance plus any future contributions, outstanding loans or loan repayments will transfer to Fidelity.
December 8, 2022: Accounts transfer to the Microsoft 401(k) Plan
Your Double Fine 401(k) Plan account information is scheduled to be transferred to your account in the Microsoft 401(k) Plan on December 8, 2022. View the Investment Mapping Report for details on how your account balance and investment elections will transfer.
December 15, 2022: First paycheck reflecting Microsoft 401(k) Plan contributions
Your first contributions and company match to the Microsoft 401(k) Plan will be reflected in your December 15, 2022, paycheck.
Week of December 25, 2022: Microsoft 401(k) Plan accounts are available
Your account in the Microsoft 401(k) Plan is scheduled to be available the week of December 25, 2022. You can request changes to your investments and contribution percentage election at virtually any time once the transition is complete.
