401(k) Plan changes coming soon

The Double Fine Productions 401(k) Savings Plan is merging with the Microsoft Corporation Savings Plus 401(k) Plan on December 8, 2022. To help make the most of this transition, we encourage you to take time now to understand the changes and how they affect you, plus any actions you may need to take.

What’s happening

While the Plans are merging December 8, 2022, the 401(k) company match will remain the same: 25% of your contribution up to the IRS limit for regular deferrals ($20,500 for 2022). However, once the transition is complete, you’ll have a new service provider—Fidelity Investments—and a new website and phone number, as well as an easy-to-use app, all of which will be available beginning the week of December 25, 2022.

Actions to consider

Your assets in the Double Fine 401(k) Plan’s investment options will map to corresponding Microsoft 401(k) Plan investment options based on a formal analysis completed by Microsoft. Depending on how you want your investments and information to transfer into the Microsoft 401(k) Plan, you may want to take action before and after the transfer.

Key dates

Fidelity will transfer your account information—including your balance, investment elections, contribution percentage elections, and outstanding loans—from your Double Fine 401(k) Plan account to the Microsoft 401(k) Plan. Some features in your Double Fine 401(k) Plan will be unavailable on different dates leading up to the transition. Review the key dates carefully.
